Bonnie Lane, Stony Brook Kitchen

These homeowners came to us wanting to change their existing kitchen into a modern-day rustic farmhouse/ french country kitchen. Looking to adjust the layout, add a larger island with seating, and upgrade the appliances to better suit their needs.

To achieve the rustic look we used soft white painted semi custom frameless cabinets with a distressed rubbing along the door edges that exposed the same warm stain underneath to match the new island, sink, and hood cabinet. A distressed country tile was used for the backsplash, where we played with tile sizes and patterns for an extra touch of texture and pattern.

Our favorite part of this kitchen remodel is the modern-day take on a curio cabinet. In a matching stain to the island, the glass door uppers showing bead board interiors and bright lighting will be a great area to show off family heirlooms.

And finally, since the laundry room is connected to the kitchen, we did a little refresher in there as well. Continuing the new vinyl planks into the laundry room, and adding tall storage to the left and right of the washer and dryer units in one of our framed stock cabinet lines.
